Instructions for use and dosage for cystitis

For the treatment of cystitis, adults are advised to take 480 mg Biseptol tablets. In this case, the reception must be carried out 2 times a day, 2 tablets (with an interval between doses of about 8 hours). Children under 5 years old are also recommended to use 2 tablets twice a day, but with a dosage of 120 mg. and in children from 6 to 12 years old – one tablet twice a day with a dosage of 480 mg.

The duration of the course use of Biseptol should be determined exclusively by the attending physician, based on the individual characteristics of the patient and the form of the disease. Most often, in acute cystitis, the therapeutic course lasts 5 – 7 days, and in the chronic form – 10 – 14 days. Also, with cystitis that has passed into the chronic stage, it is possible to use the drug within a week, with a repeat of the therapeutic course after 8 weeks.

The drug must be taken after a meal, washed down with plenty of still water. In addition, during the course of treatment, you should stop eating foods rich in animal proteins.

For the prevention of cystitis, Biseptol should not be taken, as it has a strong effect on the liver and kidneys.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to the substances that make up the medicine.
  • Renal failure.
  • Allergic reactions of any form.
  • Structural disorders of the liver tissue.
  • Blood pathologies.
  • Pregnancy and lactation.
  • Children up to 3 years.
